This is the perfect time of year for garden tomatoes.
I can't get enough sliced garden tomatoes with salt sprinkled on them.
Tiny tomatoes get turned into some variety of a caprese dish. A favorite is this kabob one.

My standard lunch 3ish days a week is sliced tomatoes, fresh mozz, basil, balsamic, EVOO, salt and pepper. It used to be a summer thing. But since decent tomatoes are obtainable at grocery stores again... Year round.

It used to be that way for ages in the Houston area. Then we got HEB and the produce game has definitely stepped up. Of course, fresh garden toms are the best!
Make them green, sliced and baked like lasagna. My favorite, especially the left overs the next day.

My ex grocery store produce manager used to hold back the greenies for me. He moved on and the kid in charge now told me he had other things to do than help me with green tomatoes. Produce he can not put on the shelf, store policy. I left my basket and walked out. With the manager calling my name I have not returned to the store. If I am going to be abused at the very least I will pay less for the privilege. Not the low price leader I am sure my shopping had no effect on the their bottom line.
Sad sign of the times

That's too bad. It's nice when you have a grocery store where you know the people and they do stuff like that for you. I hate it when things get rigid and "corporate" instead...
