Puppy Chow
Now I know you are thinking this lady has lost her mind. But in the midwest of the US there is a mild religion of puppychow, while it is not a midwestern salad it is amazing.
1 box chex cereal (I use rice chex)
1 bag Semi sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
1 bag (2 pounds) powdered sugar
Melt together the butter, chocolate chips and peanut butter. Microwave is fine if you must, just do in short cycles of 30 seconds until melted into a smooth mixture.
Or on the stove top, melt butter then add chocolate chips and peanut butter.
Now in a big huge bowl or pot empty that box of cereal in and then pour the melted goodness into it. Mix it to coat the little cereal pieces.
Next is the powdered sugar step. There are a few methods.
1. Just add to the pot and coat the pieces by tossing and mixing--- this will make an insane mess I promise.
2. Place the coated mix into a plastic zip bag and add the sugar--- zip shut and shake well. (keeps mess contained but you need a huge bag)
3. Paper sack- add all the things, roll the bag shut and shake like hell.---- good for aggression release

Candy sprinkles (cookie and cake sprinkles)
Food glitter
Food color
Candy corn

Once you have those little morsels all covered in the white powder you can place into a food storage container. You have enough to share with others, but that is all your choice.
