What's your take on hot sauces? Personally I enjoy a good burn and some heat with my food. My favorites are with flavor and not just insane heat, but once you get into the ridiculous and ludicrous levels of sauce, it is hard to find anything else.

I had a friend in the US that use to make and sell his own sauces and I would import them by the box load to Estonia (empty bottles below). He has retired from the business, but I still have a few left in storage for those times I need a kick.

I have also found a local hot sauce shop and pick up a few sauces to keep myself spiced. Here is one of my recent favorites:

I grow my own chiles. At the FAR right end of the Scoville scale. Love that endorphin rush! Each year I make up batches of Satan Water from the previous year's crop that wound up getting dried. About 5 or 5 chile pods that steep in a small jar of quality, high proof Bourbon. Delightful! Current batches have a selection of Scorpion, Ghost and Carolina Reaper.

Tried making my own sauces and growing my own peppers, but never had any true success. Given the amount of effort and time for both, it is much easier just to spend a little money and pick it up from the store.

A few years ago several of my friends were also doing the 'hot ones' wings. We all chipped in and ordered all the sauces in the lineup and had a blast eating ever hotter wings. Most survived to the last dab.

If you are not familiar with the hot ones, look it up on YouTube. It is quite amusing.
